Elite M.Sc. ‘Advanced Signal Processing and Communications Engineering (ASC)’: In this research-oriented program, the focus is on individualized student support.

The M.Sc. in Advanced Signal Processing and Communications Engineering (ASC) is a unique and high-quality program within the “Elitenetzwerk Bayern” (Elite Network of Bavaria). Designed for outstanding students with Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related disciplines, it offers individualized curricula that are tailored to personal interests and career goals. In the mandatory courses, the focus is on fundamental concepts for advanced technologies, such as Information Theory and Coding, Statistical Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Mathematical Optimization and Deep Learning. Through hands-on experiments and research projects, students can build a solid understanding in one or more of the technical subjects. Moreover, they take part in special events (kick-off seminar, winter school, summer school) throughout their studies and get meaningful support from professors as part of a special mentoring program.

Founded in 1743, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is now one of the largest research universities in Germany. In the current ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023, FAU was ranked first among all German universities in ‘Telecommunication Engineering’.

FAU’s two main sites, the cities of Erlangen and Nuremberg in Bavaria, both have their own unique charms. The opera, theatre, cabaret and museums, various sporting and leisure activities along with a lively pub scene and nightlife, offer plenty of opportunities to relax after a day in the lecture theatre, lab or library. The mixture of academia, innovative companies, art and culture makes the region the perfect place for creative minds, keen athletes and nature lovers.
