DAAD Short-Term Lectureships
North American Universities Host German Guest Lecturers
The DAAD Short Term Lectureship program provides financial support in the process of hosting German guest lecturers at North American universities.

This program facilitates exchange for the purpose of teaching, so that German educators who spearhead developments in pedagogy or a particular discipline can share their knowledge, skills, and experiences with the students on campuses in the United States and Canada. Its aims are to promote academic activity in specialized fields, help fill curricular gaps, or act as a stimulus for teaching and research.

This program is open to all academic disciplines, for lectureship durations of four weeks to six months.
Requirements
The host institution must commit to providing a monetary honorarium of $2200 US / $2200 Can per month to the guest lecturer, as well as office space with equipment (desk, computer, telephone, etc) and support facilities (copiers, fax, etc), and assistance with housing, either in the provision of faculty housing or assistance with finding reasonable housing.
Award
DAAD provides the guest lecturer with a stipend for housing, living expenses, transatlantic transportation, and the shipment of teaching materials (e.g. books) and personal luggage. The bulk of the funding is in the form of a per diem stipend of €98 - €143/day, depending on the region of the host institution. Transportation support covers a roundtrip, economy class flight and shipping of up to 50 kg for unaccompanied freight or 20 kg of accompanying luggage. The duration of DAAD support is four weeks to six months.
