Introduction to DAAD Scholarships

DAAD offers a wide range of funding opportunities for individuals and institutions in higher education.  DAAD New York is the representative office for all of North America and its programs are open to students, faculty, administrators, and staff of higher education institutions located in the United States, Canada and their territories.  There are a few special programs that may extend to constituencies beyond that.

Our primary goal is to facilitate transatlantic mobility to Germany for US and Canadian scholars, therefore Germany must be a component of your intended academic travel.*  Funding is awarded on a competitive basis; we consider the academic merit of the individual, the feasibility and quality of the proposal, and the impact of the applicant and application as a whole.

If you would like to get more information, go to: PROGRAM INDEX for an overview of all of our programs at a glance or go to SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS above, a menu will appear where you can access short descriptions of the DAAD programs at each academic level.
