The University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) is a state university that offers excellent academic education recognized worldwide.  Today, FHWS is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria (southern Germany) with particular focus on internationalization.

Course offer
With its 10 departments and more than 40 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as six research institutes, FHWS offers a broad, practice- and future-oriented course program. Within the FHWS i-Campus concept, English Bachelor’s programs add to the wide range of German degree programs. The i-Campus concept includes support programs and language courses to maintain cultural diversity and foster students’ intercultural skills. Courses take place in modern lecture rooms and laboratories equipped with innovative technology and state-of-the-art equipment.

Small study groups
Small study groups and the therefore excellent student-teacher-ratio are typical for courses taught at FHWS. Students are encouraged to work independently, e.g., when writing term papers. However, teamwork is also promoted in various group activities and projects.

Education with a special focus on application and practice
Almost 230 professors with profound work experience in their fields provide scientific education that goes hand in hand with application and practice.
The university collaborates closely with regional and trans-regional businesses. Students benefit from this close collaboration as they have the opportunity to become interns and to write their thesis in cooperation with one of the companies. Moreover, they get the chance to build a network for their future career.
