Programme Description

The initiative aims at providing more freedom for writing a larger scholarly treatise to professors from the humanities and social sciences who have already achieved a degree of renown by virtue of (a first) outstanding research performance. The Foundation will finance a teaching substitute for a leave of absence of six to 18 months and up to EUR 10,000 for additional non-personnel costs for the applicant.

Scholarship Value

Annual funding of EUR 120,000 of which
  • up to EUR 110,000 for substitute teaching including all payroll costs and
  • up to EUR 10,000 for additional non-personnel costs for the holder of the professorship, e.g. for travel, research stays, literature, publishing costs, assistants, if required.
  • further education for the substitute teacher
