The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to announce that for summer 2018 we will again offer three RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) internship programs: RISE Germany, RISE Professional, and RISE Worldwide.
Franciska Martinovic studied English and Media Studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum and just completed her internship at DAAD. During her time at DAAD, she worked on many different projects ranging from event organization to social media analysis.
In order to foster academic exchange at the graduate level, DAAD offers grants and scholarships for students with at least a Bachelor’s degree to either study or research in Germany.
Michael Prokle is a Data Scientist at Philips Research North America working on health care related projects. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research which focused on supply chain optimization in manufacturing & aerospace.
Hanni Geist is the DAAD representative in San Francisco responsible for marketing activities in the Western region of the US. She has worked with students, faculty and administrators with the FU-BEST study abroad program in Berlin, as a German instructor at Arizona State University, and now as the DAAD representative in San Francisco.

2017 Membership Drive
Membership growth is an important goal of the Alumni Association. Having been a DAAD grantee in the past, you are eligible for sustainable membership and are strongly encouraged to support the DAAD Alumni Association.

At the beginning of every year, DAAD New York hosts DAAD New Year’s Reception inviting alumni, grant holders, colleagues and friends to kick start the New Year. This year’s reception was held on January 12th and marked the opening of our award winner's art exhibition.
