Brooklyn currently studies German at Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, TN) in hopes of becoming a teacher. From her very first trip abroad, her life has been transformed. Especially after her experience in Germany, she now serves both as an advocate for international friendships and for disabled people who may want to go abroad, as a wheelchair user herself. Her biggest hope for the future is that she can continue to spread her appreciation for the culture and inspire others while doing so.
Hanife Schulte is a doctoral candidate in Theatre and Performance Studies at Tufts University. Prior to Tufts, she received M.A. degrees in Theatre from Ankara University and Emerson College. She explores how theatre as performance responds to cultural, political, and social issues.
Saskia received a Bachelor in Geography and French from the Humboldt-Universität at Berlin. During her undergraduate degree she spent one year as an exchange student in Montreal with a DAAD scholarship. After completing her Master’s in Physical Geography at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin she returned to Canada where she now works as an Education Abroad Advisor at the University of Calgary. Since 2016 she is part of the DAAD Alumni Board Canada.

RISE worldwide starts its tenth year! In the past 9 years almost 2200 German undergraduate students interned abroad as research assistants. And once more Research groups from all over the world that are interested in hosting a German research assistant in the summer of 2019 are invited to submit project offers to RISE worldwide.
Dr. Richards-Wilson is the Director of Graduate Business Programs at Alverno College where she holds a tenure-track faculty position. She has been awarded several fellowships including two from DAAD.
Christina Gerhardt is Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii. She has held visiting appointments at the Freie Universität, Harvard University, Columbia University and the University of California at Berkeley. She has been awarded grants by many funding organisations, including DAAD.
