Job Opportunity: Communications Manager, DWIH (full-time)

The German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York is seeking a creative, outgoing person to join our team full time as Communications Officer. This is an in-person position. Anticipated start date: January 17, 2022.

The initial contract will be issued for one year with the possibility of renewal.

The Communications Officer will work closely with the Executive Director, Program Manager, and Program Officer of DWIH and will be responsible for a variety of science communication, marketing and outreach functions. This includes managing the DWIH NY brand, overseeing its communications platforms across web, social and email marketing and creating content.

Requirements:
• Fluent in German and English (native English speaker preferred)
• Several years of professional experience in communications, journalism, public relations and/or marketing
• Professional experience with social media (including LinkedIn and Twitter)
• Outstanding communications skills (oral, written, interpersonal)
• Self-motivated, organized, exceptional time management, and a strong work ethic
• Strong computer skills, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, experience with web content management systems, WordPresss and CRM systems preferred. Video editing experience is a plus
• Interest in science and research institutions in Germany and the U.S.

Salary: USD 58K during an initial six-month trial period and USD 68K thereafter. Salary is nonnegotiable. 401k, health insurance, paid vacation and sick leave.
