The measures to contain the corona virus have now reached large parts of public life in New York.
Carnegie Hall and its Weill Recital Hall, which has been hosting the DAAD Sound Understanding Concert for almost 20 years, are among the many facilities that have temporarily closed until May 10th.
Our Sound Understanding 2020 has, therefore, been canceled by Carnegie Hall and we will not be able to hold the concert on April 16th as planned. As disappointed as we may be, the health concerns of the city and the country are a top priority.

Thank you for your understanding.
