A heartfelt thank you to our DAAD Young Ambassadors 2016-2017! During the past academic year, these undergraduate students from all across the US and Canada have volunteered to promote study in Germany at their home universities. Thank you for all your hard work – we thoroughly enjoyed working with you.
In order to prepare the new cohort of DAAD Young Ambassadors for this exciting volunteer opportunity, DAAD is hosting a three-day training session in New York City in mid-August. This allows our new Young Ambassadors to tap into a unique network by exchanging stories with others like them who studied abroad in Germany, engaging with DAAD staff, and experiencing first-hand the atmosphere of the German Consulate and Foreign Services in New York.
In workshops and training sessions, our ambassadors learn about the German higher education and research system as well as the wide range of DAAD funding opportunities. In addition, the training focuses on refining public speaking and presentation skills and meeting new people.
