Brenda from the UC San Diego studied Political Science at the University of Goettingen from September 2004 to June 2005.
A Sandpipers scholar currently attending UCSD, Brenda has traveled down many avenues in life to formulate her goals, such as playing music at coffee shops and tutoring ESL (English as a second language) students in San Diego; writing for local community publications and working in sales and service industries. Her thirst for exploration has led her to Yong Kong, a small town in Southeast China, where she taught English to middle school students with other American teachers. Last year she did extensive research on Irish Politics at Trinity College Dublin, specifically exploring the causes of and proposed solutions to the Northern Ireland problem. This year she plans to study the effects of the recent EU enlargement on immigration patterns and individual immigrants’ experiences within the Union, focusing on Germany.
