DAAD Information Center San Francisco

The San Francisco Information Center was established in order to better serve the needs of students, faculty, and institutions of higher education in the western half of the U.S. who are interested in international exchange. The primary goal of the Information Center is to build and strengthen ties between German and North American universities, and to promote study and research in Germany. The Information Center fulfills this by advising students, faculty, and other interested parties on the wide variety of academic opportunities available in Germany, as well as on a broad range of sources of funding, including a number of grants offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Interested parties including students, faculty, and university representatives looking to know more about academic exchange with Germany are invited to drop by the San Francisco office or to contact the Information Officer by phone or email.

How Green is Germany?: A Quiz

Germany is certainly one of the greenest countries in the world. As a leader in environmental technology and progressive programs addressing recycling, Germany promotes a level of environmental awareness rivaled by few other nations. We would like to test your knowledge of how green Germany is and get you thinking about how you can incorporate a “green” German experience into your future.

Take the quiz and you could win a free trip to Germany, a bicycle or a subscription to National Geographic.

DAAD Alumni

Attention all Bay Area DAAD Alumni!

The DAAD Alumni Association USA provides a fantastic opportunity to stay in contact with other DAAD scholars, to expand networks, and to nurture interest in and further knowledge of German culture and higher education. There is an exceptionally high concentration of DAAD alumni in the Bay Area, but, as of yet, no regional group established. Reach out to your fellow alumni and make an effort to further the DAAD Alumni Association; contact the San Francisco Information Officer Leslie Harlson at daadsf@daad.org to help set up a Bay Area group, or to see what you can do to help!
