Dieses Webportal für die deutschen Stipendiaten des DAAD in den USA und Kanada ist in drei Bereiche unterteilt:
Auf den Informationsseiten möchten wir euch helfen, euch in eurem Gastland schneller zurecht zu finden. Zusätzlich zu Informationen rund um das Leben und Studieren in den USA oder Kanada findet ihr hier auch Erfahrungsberichte anderer Stipendiaten, Buch- und Filmkritiken und vieles mehr.
Im interaktiven Bereich könnt ihr euch mit anderen Stipendiaten austauschen, diskutieren und Gleichgesinnte finden. Nehmt an einem der angekündigten Themen- und Gruppenchats teil oder verabredet euch im Chatroom. Digitale Aushänge finden Platz am Schwarzen Brett.
Informationen zu eurer Stadt in den USA oder Kanada findet ihr auf den einzelnen Städteseiten. Tauscht euch mit anderen über das Leben und Studieren in den Universitätsstädten aus und findet wertvolle Tipps und Hinweise.

Special Scholarships open exclusively to German students in the US |

This age of globalization increases the flow of people and, of course, the flow of knowledge. Year by year the numbers of students who cross the borders for education rise. To facilitate this rise, there are two interesting fellowships open to German students interested in pursuing a degree at Harvard University or University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
The Holtzer fellowship and Arno Burckhardt scholarship are very strong funds for German students who are aiming to receive education in the United States. These scholarships are funded only for German students wishing to study as degree seeking students in the United States. It can not be utilized for non-degree study.
The Holtzer Fellowship is a historical scholarship at Harvard University, available to typically two to three German male students p.a. This rule was set up by the donor, Mr Charles Holtzer. The students must have received their education in Germany. Every year, The Holtzer fellows are chosen from the pool of students that have been awarded a year long DAAD fellowship and have applied to www.daad.de.
In contrast, the Arno Burckhardt scholarship was established in early 2006 to assist a student with German mother tongue to study at University of Virginia, Darden School of Business.
German entrepreneur and donor Arno Burckhardt holds an MBA from Darden School of Business at University of Virginia (class of 1971). The scholarship recipient is awarded a $25,000 scholarship with the opportunity to renew the scholarship for the second year.
Ms. Julia Haemmerle of Germany, a DAAD scholar 2007-08, was chosen as the first ever Arno Burckhardt fellow. The total amount of the DAAD and Burckhardt scholarship covers the full tuition of her first year of MBA studies at Darden School of Business.
Both scholarships require students to apply themselves to the department of their choice at Harvard University or University of Virginia, Darden School of Business.
