German Studies
Perhaps the DAAD's best known reputation is that of supporter of German Studies. There exists a breadth and history of activity that goes unmatched by any other organization in this arena. From the inception of the Monatshefte German Studies Directory, to sponsorship of conferences on myriad topics, to the Centers for German and European Studies now at the forefront of the examination of political and social issues, to our renowned Summer Seminars for advanced scholars. We offer programs to foster young scholars and the well established to keep up the momentum of German Studies in the United States and Canada.

A new information platform has been developed for the German and European Studies Community in Canada. Features like expert database, event calendar, latest news, overview of available grants/ scholarships and other services will help to spread the news about initiatives and promote networking in this field. This project is headed by the University of Victoria in collaboration with other Universities across Canada and partly funded by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD.
