Transatlantic Engineering Dialogue

Over the past several years, DAAD has worked to engender an ongoing dialogue between leading academics and administrators in the field of engineering in Germany and North America. Thus far, DAAD has used the following means to achieve this goal:
  • taking North American deans of engineering on informational visits to German universities (2002, 2003)
  • taking German representatives of universities of technology and applied sciences to the US (2003)
  • workshops in which German and American engineers address various mobility schemes and accreditation issues (2004, 2005, 2006)
With this new and interactive online area, DAAD hopes to further facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between Germany and North America which will lead to greater international opportunities for engineering students, researchers and professionals.
